Mental Processing Speed Training
Training Objective
This application is designed to train your brain to process numerical information quickly and accurately.
Task Mechanics
In each session you must indicate whether the result of an addition is correct or incorrect. Each series consists of 10 simple tasks, formed by three numbers: two operands and one result. It is recommended to start with the basic level (2 … 10).
Progressive Difficulty
The numbers will appear on screen very briefly, forcing you to memorize and process the information in a single glance. The initial operation will be visible for 2 seconds. Each time you correctly complete a series, the viewing time will progressively reduce until reaching extremely short exposures.
Peripheral Vision Technique
The key to the exercise is to capture all numbers at the same time, taking an instant "visual snapshot". It is not about reading the numbers sequentially, but perceiving them simultaneously, expanding your peripheral vision field.
How to Respond
When the result of the addition is correct, you must press the "Correct" button as soon as possible. If it is incorrect, press "Incorrect" with maximum speed.
Evaluation System
The application evaluates the average of your reaction times. Each error adds a 2-second penalty, encouraging both speed and accuracy.
Training Benefits
Responding quickly and accurately indicates a high mental processing capacity. The more you train, the less time your mind needs to interpret and calculate information.
Progression Recommendations
It is recommended to perform 10 daily series, starting with the basic level. When you are able to respond comfortably to 100 millisecond exposures, you can advance to the next level (11 … 20) and continue progressing until completing all levels.
