How to calculate VAT in Sudan step by step (17%)
This guide explains how to add VAT manually and how to check the result using the calculator.
In some shops or web portals, you may see prices with the comment "VAT not included". This means that it is not the final price, and you will have to add VAT to the amount to get the total to pay.
Formula to calculate VAT on a price without VAT
To calculate the VAT in this case, the following formula should be used:
Practical example of VAT calculation at 17%
That is, if you have a product whose value is SDG 60,150 without VAT and with a 17% VAT rate, the formula would look like this:
The product price must be multiplied by the VAT percentage, and that number divided by 100. In this case, it would give SDG 10,225.5. So the VAT amount would be SDG 10,225.5.
Another alternative would be to divide 17% by 100, resulting in 0.17, and multiply this by SDG 60,150, resulting in SDG 10,225.5 in the same way.
Finally, to add VAT to a price, add the base price of the product, for example, SDG 60,150, plus the calculated VAT of SDG 10,225.5, giving a final result of SDG 70,375.5.
