How to calculate IVA in Zambia step by step (16%)
This guide explains how to add IVA manually and how to check the result using the calculator.
In some shops or web portals, you may see prices with the comment "IVA not included". This means that it is not the final price, and you will have to add IVA to the amount to get the total to pay.
Formula to calculate IVA on a price without IVA
To calculate the IVA in this case, the following formula should be used:
Practical example of IVA calculation at 16%
That is, if you have a product whose value is K 2,010 without IVA and with a 16% IVA rate, the formula would look like this:
The product price must be multiplied by the IVA percentage, and that number divided by 100. In this case, it would give K 321.6. So the IVA amount would be K 321.6.
Another alternative would be to divide 16% by 100, resulting in 0.16, and multiply this by K 2,010, resulting in K 321.6 in the same way.
Finally, to add IVA to a price, add the base price of the product, for example, K 2,010, plus the calculated IVA of K 321.6, giving a final result of K 2,331.6.
